Email Communication - May 2001
Blueprint, BS2003, Scholarships, Chorister...

8 May 2001

AMCAers,

Where is AMCA headed?
Have you ever wondered?
Do you have some ideas?
Become aware of the "Blueprint for Progress" workshop scheduled for AMCA International on June 8-9, 2001. Read the groundwork for the workshop, advise your representatives about your ideas, enter your own feedback on the web, and get involved as more info becomes available. (I had this workshop originally scheduled for the Fall meeting (Oct) in 2001. Things have changed - make sure you update your calendars. You have very little time to submit agenda items or thoughts for this very important meeting. Contact your reps........ )

Bill Bates, AMCA Executive Secretary, draws attention to this meeting on his new Bulletin Board - "AMCA Notable Items". Bill's new bulletin board is linked in the header of all AMCA pages (and several other places). Check it regularly for reminders and updates from Bill. Enter your email address for notification of updates.

Bill indicates that the new "Interactive" column for May will deal with this "Blueprint for Progress" workship also. Check it out when it arrives on the web.

Looking ahead:
Share the publicity brochure for International Big Sing 2003 (Lansing) with your chorus and friends. Gayle Pohl, Lansing Male Chorus Director, has designed a brochure for you to read, print, and distribute to your choruses and friends to "perk" some interest in Big Sing 2003. "Chanticleer" will be there (at BS2003). Hearing a "Chanticleer" concert or attending one of their clinics should be a "highlight" for any Male Chorus singer. Follow the "progress" as BS 2003 takes shape. Click on Publicity.Brochure for the brochure. There are "Lansing Links" at the bottom of the opening page to help you get "familiar" with Lansing. There is a web site for you to "Ask Questions or Make Comments" - How about a little advance support for the work the Lansing people are doing? Let them know you are keeping up with their progress.

Outstanding young people:
Tom Rayner has announced the Scholarship winners for 2001-2001 on the scholarship web page. See the list first on the Scholarship page web site.

Thanks to Forbes Martinson (Staples Male Chorus) the Scholarship Recipients Data Base is fairly complete. Forbes filled in the missing years from his personal library of old "Chorister" issues. Thanks Forbes! Go to the Scholarship web site and click on the Data Base or click this link:

Do you need an AMCA "fix"?
There haven't been any new issues of the "Chorister" in some time but some older issues are still around for your viewing on the web site. There is a "Dialogue" page for you to enter comments and input (I suppose, even "NEWS?" could be enter here) for the Chorister Editor.

Dan seems to be "back in health" again and is contemplating a "mega issue" (his words) of the Chorister to catch up...... Some items may appear on a new "Chorister News" bulletin board (linked from the Chorister web site) soon... Watch for it!!
