Email Communication - August 2000
Improved Communications

27 August 2000

AMCAers:

To help improve communications between and among AMCAers has been a personal goal of mine for some time. In continuing efforts in that direction I would like to offer you the following service.

If you have a communication or a response that you would like to have delivered to All AMCAers or to a specific targeted group, like All International Officers, All Chorus Contacts, All Chorus Directors, Your District, Your District Contacts, Your District Directors, etc., I will help you do this.

1-I can help you to set this up yourself (you will have to keep your email mailing list current)

or

2-I will send the message for you (if you send it first to me).

Bill and I try to keep the posted AMCA email list current and accurate - get your password from Bill. http://security.amcachorus.org

I will send futher installments of this idea later and I plan to create an informational web site on this topic so those of you with "interest" in better communications can find further thoughts and information. More Later!!

--- (some brief thoughts) ---

These efforts (above) are preliminary efforts in preparation for establishing a list-server for AMCA to aid in AMCA communications.

There are many skillful people in AMCA that can be "resources" on many chorus topics.

An easy interchange of ideas among AMCA members could really help! We already have the little-used AMCA TALK web site but an email communication is a bit more personal in nature.

We probably have all been guilty of "going it alone" in our own choruses and "forget" that we have a whole group of people out there (AMCAers) with similar interests that are willing to help. Many AMCAers are very skilled and experienced in accomplishing tasks and could be a wonderful resource.

Have you ever been trying to decide "how to" do something in your chorus and wondered if there is someone that would have some advice for you?
- Where do you find this out?
- How do you find these people?
- How do you communicate with them?

AMCAers should have much in common with each other.
- AMCAers all sing!
- AMCA begins with interest in and love of singing.
- Areas of "commonality" can be "discovered" if there is communication.
- I'm sure AMCAers would like to support each other if they "get to know each other".
- AMCA was never intended for "competition" but for "sharing and support"
- I feel we need to find "ways to share/support" more effectively, more often, and with ease!

Dave - this is a great idea - I switched my browser the first day you wrote - I may unfortunately be the only one who has. It is a quick loading homepage with great links. Also, the "I Thought " link to read how business establishments in your community rate is interesting - and earns an additional 20 cents each time you rate a business. Well, you may pass on my testimonial to the list if you want.

Thanks, Charles
