NYP Big Sing to be held November 1, 2003 in Amherst. The New York Penn District of Associated Male Choruses of America is pleased to present their district Big Sing on Saturday, November 1st, 2003.

The Amherst Big Sing will be held at the Amherst Middle School, 55 Kings Highway, Snyder, NY. The registration will begin at noon and rehearsal will run from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The proposed list of mass chorus songs follows: Salutation, O Canada, Star Spangled Banner, Make A Joyful Sound, Soon and Very Soon, The Creation, The Awakening, Rhythm of Life, Once Upon A Time, When The Saints Go Marching In, Battle Hymn of the Republic. It is anticipated that several choruses from the Ontario District will be joining with the NY Penn Choruses to put about 10-13 choruses on stage.

Following the evening concert, an Afterglow will be held at the Marygold Manor, 770 Maryvale Drive/corner of Beach Road, Cheektowaga, NY. The ticket price of approximately $5 will include a pitcher of beverage at the table and a bowl of pretzels or light snack. Additional food items, as well as a cash bar, will be available at extra charge.

Richard Keffer reported that Amherst will host the next Big Sing on Saturday, November 1, 2003 with the concert beginning at 7:30pm. There will be 8 choruses participating. Two choruses from Canada and six choruses from the district. Concert location will be at the Amherst Middle School, 55 Kings Highway, Snyder N.Y. Registration will be from noon until 1:00pm with rehearsal from 1pm until 3pm. The afterglow will be held at Marygold Manor, 770 Maryvale Drive/corner of Beach Road, Cheektowaga, N.Y. Some choruses have not advised how many concert and afterglow tickets they will need. Richard requested that the information be provided as soon as possible so that Amherst can reserve those tickets. The afterglow will be set up with assigned tables with each table seating 10 people. There will be chips and pretzels, two pitchers of beer, two coupons for either soft drinks or wine. A Dutch treat bar and light food area will be provided. A silent scholarship raffle will be conducted. Scholarship tickets can be purchased at registration. Prizes will be arranged with a bag placed in front of each item. Place your ticket in the bag for the item you hope to win. Drawing will be conducted during rehearsal.
